Shiraz is an EMDR Consultant formerly working in the NHS and now in private practice. Since 2106 she has been a trustee and is current President of Trauma Aid UK which supports capacity building through pro-bono trauma training, supervision and research in underserved countries.  In response to the series of UK mass traumatic incidents in 2017, Shiraz co-founded the Trauma Response Network and since then has delivered Recent Traumatic Episode Protocol (RTEP) and group GTEP trainings to the UK’s NHS and in countries affected by conflict and mass trauma.  As a Senior Trainer she serves on the RTEP/GTEP International committee and is co-author of a book chapter on scaling up  trauma treatment in the 2023 book EMDR Group Therapy, published by Springer.  Responding to the COVID19 pandemic, Shiraz and the GTEP team have trained many hundreds of EMDR therapists supporting NHS staff and other key workers on the Frontline. In collaboration with pioneers in the scaling up EMDR project, Rolf Carriere, Elan Shapiro and Ignacio Jarero, she developed a free self-help website with EMDR informed exercises aimed at staff and the general public   https://1stcontact.net/    Shiraz is a dedicated Supervisor who can adapt to supervisees challenges of working intensively or in brief therapy settings as well as with clients who present with recent, complex or ongoing trauma.
